The Ashe Project
Through the support of the Arthur Ashe Legacy at UCLA, our tennis efforts have helped us share the legacy of Ashe through the distribution of learning materials and booklets to children at local clubs in Zambia.
The Children and Players are run through an 8 to 10 week of the Ashe-series to discuss various topics that range from nutrition, fitness, and community engagement. Currently these workshops have been held at Nkana Tennis Tennis Club and other community tennis clubs in the town of Ndola. Mr. Ashe visited Zambia in 1970’s and conducted a series of coaching Clinics with compatriot Mr. Stan Smith.
Our belief is that a well rounded foundation is a catalyst to create awareness and curiosity. Through the support of many of Ashe’s previous work and influence, we hope that people that ran across this work will also help others.
